Story They Tell…

"The whole of Minas Gerais is wonderful, but what stands out for me is the mineira cuisine, and the people, who are simply charming."

P. Gualberto

Come and get it! There’s hot coffee and freshly-baked cake.

Like your granny’s house, the state of Minas Gerais is warm and welcoming, and the cuisine is mouth-watering.  And then, of course, there are the fantastic sugarcane rum cachaças! But the region won’t captivate you only through your stomach. Inhotim, to give you one example, is the Mecca of contemporary art appreciators. Open-air collections laid out around a ranch, or fazenda, invite visitors to interact intensely with the works of art, promenading among copses, dales, and ponds. Historical routes takes the visitors to the charming colonial towns of Tiradentes, Mariana and Ouro Preto, the first Brazilian town to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nature and history are key ingredients of the delicious “Mineiro” recipe. What with nature parks and charming cobblestoned villages, the delights of the state will enchant your heart. As the Minas locals like to say, when lost in admiration – Eita trem bão, sô!
