An immensity of thundering waters.
No need to choose sides: the Argentinian and Brazilian sides of the falls are equally impressive. Longer than Victoria Falls and higher than Niagara, the spectacle makes you feel man’s insignificance. No wonder the group of waterfalls goes by its Tupi-Guarani name Iguaçu: it means “giant-water”. On the Brazilian side, approached through the well-organized Iguaçu National Park, a 1200-meter walkway threads the falls of the Iguaçu River. At the end of the walkway gaze into the ravine called Garganta do Diabo (Devil’s Throat) and marvel at the ceaseless roar from all sides. Declared one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World,” the Iguaçu Falls are one of those places that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
