The energy of crystals.

The more esoteric among us believe that Alto Paraíso, built on a huge quartz formation and on the same latitude as Machu Picchu, has its own special energy, and a mysticism enhanced by the stunning nature of the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. The region has it all: a major river basin and one of Unesco’s World Natural Heritage sites, sheer rock faces and crystal-clear rivers are framed by the vegetation of Brazil’s savanna-like cerrado while nearby crystal mines make it one of the country’s mystical hubs. You will need to hike to the main attractions, but the rewards are guaranteed: swimming in the pools at the foot of waterfalls, or in springs that well up in the midst of rocky formations—as at Vale da Lua (“Moon Valley”), sculpted by the waters of the São Miguel River.  Whether you come to meditate, commune with nature, or simply burn off a few calories, you will certainly return with your energies reinvigorated after spending a few days immersed in the beauties of Veadeiros.
